R&B superstar Ne-Yo has written a script for a new movie - and used the film's storyline to inspire his next album.
The "So Sick" hitmaker is in talks with Hollywood bosses to turn his screenplay into a big screen picture, and is hoping to release an album and graphic novel based on its plot.
He tells Britain's Daily Star, "I developed a script and I'm in the process of getting a Hollywood studio to turn it into a movie. My new album is a series of songs inspired by the script that I wrote, but it's not a musical."
"I've got a few friends in the graphic novel business, so we will storyboard it but release it as a book first. The underlying question is about your moral fibre. Is love, money and fame more important to you? The movie is really me and my friends answering that question."

“OMG,” is the new single from the crooner’s newly released album “Raymond v. Raymond.”
Last week Usher was the guest mentor in American Idol Season 9 R&B/Soul episode. Dressed in black and silver, the singer moved through clouds of smoke and burning flames with his dancers to entertain the crowd, accompanied by Black Eyed Peas mastermind Will.I.Am singing his new track conveniently titled “OMG”.
For those who missed the show, here is his live performance of "OMG":
KC Concepcion, or Maria Kristina Cassandra Concepcion in real life and a Filipina actress, was born on April 7, 1985 to Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion.
KC Concepcion’s new album "KC" is #2 at Astroplus/vision OPM charts & #3 over-all charts from Mar29-Apr4 while her music video for ‘Not Like The Movies’ is currently at #6 on Pinoy MYX Countdown!
Her album is under Sony Music and she wrote three of the 12 tracks namely “Magandang Umaga,” “Takip Silim” and “Worth The Wait” each of which talked about a different phase in a love story. KC co-produced with Jinno Mina, four tracks in her new CD. These are “Hulog,” “Naantig Ako Sa Yo,” “Girl Most Likely To” and “Tayo Na.” The assumption of the responsibility shows her growing confidence not only on commanding center stage but also behind the scenes as she herself maps out a trajectory all her own.
KC will be launching her new album at ASAP XV this Sunday, April 11 and will perform her carrier single ‘Not Like The Movies’. After ASAP, she will also appear at The BUZZ... so don't miss all the tv guestings of KC. Sony Music is in the thick of arranging KC’s mall tour in April and May
Do you still love Janet's music? Check out her new single, Nothing. The song is a single on the movie's soundtrack, and it was released on the same day that the movie "Why Did I Get Married?" was also released which will revolve around one-week reunion of four married couples in Bahamas. The movie is the latest from Tyler Perry and is directed by Tim Palen which offers visual effects using glasses walls and relies on close shots of Janet. Scenes from the movie, particularly that of Janet's Patricia, are intercepted.
"Nothing" is a song produced by Jermaine Dupri teaming up with top notch producer Bryan-Michael Cox. "We're still very close," Janet said on working with her ex. "I love Jermaine; he's just a kind soul, and I'm thankful we're friends." Picked as the lead single, it appears on the soundtrack album which will be released in the U.S. on April 27.
Finally some news regarding Drake's longed for debut album "Thank Me Later" gets unveiled. I'm glad to inform you that the current release is set for May.
The following is a report on Drake’s debut album, Thank Me Later. It was written by Ace Burpee, who was invited to a listening session for a preliminary glimpse at the album.
1) There’s a song on the disc called 'Fireworks' that has the greatest beat ever. Drake has this sidekick producer called 40, and he’s talented. I met him as well this afternoon and he’s also a good kid. He’s about to be very, very busy. 'Fireworks' has a hook on it courtesy of Kings of Leon. It’s catchy.
2) There is a KanYe West–produced track on the album that comes with a story. The track was made by KanYe for Beyoncé, but Drake really wanted it so he wrote her a handwritten letter asking if he could use it. She read it and thought it was sweet and e–mailed him to give her permission. It’s a great track.
3) There’s a Jay–Z/Drake track that he played for us – minus Jay’s verse. Jay–Z doesn’t let anyone hear his stuff before it comes out. Drake claims it is the greatest verse Jay’s ever done. Possibly the rumoured 'Light Up', produced by Tone Mason & Noah "40" Shebib?
4) I think the final track on the album is called 'Thank Me Now' or something. He played us a recorded verse then did another one live and it was one of the best. Really cool.
5) He sings on a bunch of tracks on the album.
6) Drake will be in L.A. doing a track with Dr. Dre and Eminem.
7) Yes, there is a Timbaland beat on the album.
It is highly possible that the biggest album of 2010 will be from a Canadian, and his name will be Drake.
On her new album, Nikki embraces her sophistication being a woman-in-love and the joy of new found independence in such a way that we seem to be witnessing the moments when a young artist has a staying power and here’s something to prove it.
As Nikki unleashes more of her craft particularly in how she blurs lines between classic soul, modern rhythms, jazz, pop melodies, and singer/songwriter sensibility, highlight of the album gives us a real-love-masterpiece singing with Billy Crawford in the compelling YOU ARE MY LIFE, which was also penned by Billy himself. Collecting songs from the finest songwriters and producers, Nikki’s album boasts masterpieces from David Pomeranz, Marcus Davis, Wency Cornejo, Arni Mendaros and PolyEast’s Chito Ilagan. The other titles are “I Will Be Loving You,” “Magbabalik Ka Pa Ba,” “Time And Again,” “Last Love,” “I’ll Be Yours” and “Bawat Hakbang.”
SOMEBODY TO LOVE, the album from Nikki Gil is now available in the market released by Polyeast Records. You can also watch Nikki perform her new singles at the following shows:
March 26 (Friday): Robinsons Galleria
April 11 (Friday): Robinsons Sta. Rosa
April 16 (Saturday): Robinsons Place Lipa
April 17 (Sunday): Robinsons Starmills Pampanga
The last time we heard from Monica was back in 2007 with an album called “The Makings of Me” where she was trying too hard to be contemporary. So after years in the making, Monica will finally release her sixth studio album “Still Standing” today, March 23rd. It’s lead single “Everything To Me” is currently doing well on iTunes. The “Fatal Attraction” - inspired video to the track is set to premiere in the coming weeks.
Thoughts?… Don’t get me wrong the CD is not bad, no one sings about pain, drama, love, cheating and strength, but at the end of the day the album is plain and lacks that appealing certain something to make it a classic. There were few standout cuts from the CD that I really enjoyed, the old-school Deniece Williams sampled single, ”Everything to Me”, “Mirror” where she seems to be having a stream of consciousness, the sexually charged “Superman” and of course “Still Standing” which has uplifting words for all of us. Hopefully Monica will use her great talent next time with something even better.

Teenage Youtube sensation Charice has gained much worldwide attention thanks to David Foster, Celine Dion, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and more. She first arrived on the scene performing on the Ellen DeGeneres show and the rest is history.
"Pyramid" is Charice's second international single (the first being 'Note to God'). Penned by Swedish songwriter David Jassy, the R&B love song features Charice's JoJo-sounding voice with splices of Iyaz's Island Pop phrases (a similar style to his chart-topping hit 'Replay').
Pyramid sounds, without a doubt, better than Charice’s first single Note To God. Charice’s mad vocals are the song’s biggest asset. Iyaz does not overpower Charice’s vocals in the track as well. As an additional note, Iyaz is not an annoying presence in this one. Iyaz’ presence can be compared to how Flo Rida contributed to Alexandra Burke song Bad Boys – something helpful for the betterment of the track.
